ITIL® V3 Foundation – 3 or 3.5 Days

The ITIL® V3/2011 Foundation Course introduces participants to the principles and core elements of the service lifecycle approach to IT Service Management according to the ITIL framework of best practices. ITIL V3 was updated in 2011, and this course includes those updates.

The IT Infrastructure Library® (more commonly referred to as “ITIL”) is centered around five books published by The Cabinet Office: Service Strategy, Service Design, Service Transition, Service Operation and Continual Service Improvement. Taking an ITIL Foundation course is like getting the Readers Digest™ version of these books in a presentation format. This 21-26 hour course provides an awareness-level understanding of ITIL concepts though lecture, presentation, and discussion. The 28 ITIL processes and four functions are described, as well as their goals, objectives, benefits, roles, and interdependencies.

Knapp I.T., Inc. offers ITIL Foundation Training in either a three or 3.5 day format.

Three-day courses are a boot-camp style class, with class time spent mostly on lecture and sample questions, and short discussions. In this three-day option, there is no time for student exercises, and the exam is proctored in the final hour of the third day of class. This is a rigorous schedule, but also our most popular option.

Three-and-a-half-day courses cover the same material, but with an additional 3-4 extra hours for group discussions, implementation tips and tricks, exercises, and more pre-exam review.

The 3.5-day class is also customizable. Want some extra attention spent on Change Management? Would you like to do an exercise on the challenges of working on a Service Desk? Just ask! Our instructors aren’t just instructors; we’re consultants with almost 20 years (each) of real-world experience working for large and small businesses managing the teams, maintaining the technology and managing the processes too. Don’t be afraid to pick our brains in class; we’re there for you!
